EO4SD Water are just back from Peru after a well organized and highly interesting Earth Observation seminar and training workshop.
On 26th of March 2019 a 1-day seminar was conducted at the Cultural Center of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (CCPUCP). More than 30 participants, involving a broad range of national stakeholders within the water sector, were introduced to the latest Earth Observation satellites, monitoring techniques, and information services to inform water resource management policies. Through the lens of specific use cases, implemented under EO4SD Water, robust and fully operational large-scale services were introduced and their application to sustainable land and water management practices demonstrated.
From 27th to 29th of March the venue was shifted to the facilities of Autoridad Nacional del Agua (ANA) where a technical training workshop were held in order to inform participants in more detail about the European Copernicus Satellite Monitoring Program and to provide insight to and hands-on experience with the production process for surface water monitoring and water quality monitoring – the two services demonstrated for ANA and World Bank by EO4SD Water.
We are thankful to DHI Peru and ANA for the organizational support and for all participants for making this a successful seminar and workshop.
